
The training and capacity building arm of the Nigerian Copyright Commission, the Nigerian Copyright Institute (NCI), is organising a training for legal practitioners, government officials, entertainment managers, professionals in the copyright industries and the general public.
The training is scheduled to hold in Abuja on the 13th - 14th of March, 2013. If you missed the Abuja training, you can still attend the Lagos training which was postponed to 27th and 28th of March, 2013.
Topics to be covered include:
- Overview of the Nigerian Copyright Law
- Regulatory Functions of the Nigerian Copyright Commission
- Copyright Infringement and Enforcement Procedures
- Copyright Piracy and Anti Piracy Strategies
- The Role of Lawyers in the Book, Music and Film Industries
- Copyright Contracts
- Forensic Appraisal of Recent Copyright Cases
- International Dimensions of Copyright Law and Administration
Facilitators for the training include legal practitioners, practitioners in the copyright industries and Government officials who offer a wide range of technical knowledge, hands-on experience and expertise. The training is designed to provide participants with insights into the legal, policy and practical issues on the subject.
The training will be useful for private legal practitioners, in-house counsel in copyright industries, events and entertainment managers, university lecturers and research students.
This is a welcome effort from the Nigerian Copyright Commission for the advancement of Copyright law and practice in the Nation.
The training fee has been set at N80,000.00 which covers delivery, course packs, writing materials, lunch, coffee, certificates and souvenirs.
