A MUSIC ICON SAVED BY THE LOVE OF HIS FANS

Good News for fans of OJB Jezreel who is reported to have scaled through his surgery successfully.

OJB Jezreel is a renowned Nigerian artiste, producer and songwriter who has graced the Nigerian Music industry with his talent for over two decades. He has the record of producing several hit tracks, topmost of which is African Queen by Tuface Idibia which sold 8 million copies internationally and 10 million copies in Nigeria.

It was announced in June this year that OJB required the sum of N15 million for a kidney transplant surgery in India.

The artiste faced some opposition from the media and public questioning the amount he stated was needed for the surgery. Fortunately, the love shown by his friends, fans and colleagues outweighed such opposition, as he was able to raise the necessary amount and did travel to India for his surgery. Although the surgery was not performed immediately (due to the required pre-plant treatment), which raised some suspicion; OJB Jezreel has now been discharged from the Columbian Asian Hospital India, after a successful operation. He sent a message out to his supportive fans to share the good news. OJB officially thanked all Nigerians, his friends, fans and family for their love, prayers and good wishes, stating clearly that without them this would not have been possible.

Hopefully, he will be back to his feet and creative desk soon enough. This story just shows how much emotional capital an artiste can have with members of the public. It is hoped that more deaths of young musicians and stakeholders in the Nigerian Entertainment Industry will be averted.

OJB, we at the IP Journal wish you a speedy recovery; and of course, keep being creative!
